South Bend SB1074 A2-15 32" Face Plate

A versatile workholding solution for big bore lathes.

The SB1074 is a 32", flat, circular face plate with machined slots for mounting workpieces or other accessories.

How it Works with Lathes and Accessories:

• Direct Mount Lathes: On a lathe with an A2-15 spindle, the face plate mounts directly, providing a stable base for various machining operations.
• Lathes with Outboard Spindle Back Plates: For lathes without a direct mount, an A2-15 outboard spindle back plate is required first. Then, the face plate mounts to the back plate.
• Workpiece Attachment: Workpieces can be attached to the face plate using clamps, bolts, or other suitable methods. The holes and slots on the face plate offer flexibility in workpiece placement and orientation.
• Accessory Attachment: Various accessories, such as soft jaws, steady rests, or even other chucks, can be mounted to the face plate for specific machining tasks.

An important thing to consider when choosing a face plate is the size. Ensure the face plate is large enough for your workpieces. We offer two additional sizes of A2-15 face plates, the SB1075 36" Face Plate and the SB1076 40" Face Plate.

This face plate fits our entire of South Bend Big Bore lathes and needs to be ordered at the time of lathe purchase, as it will be installed at the factory.
