The SB1126 features a 3 HP induction motor to provide true variable spindle speed in two ranges: between 50 and 900 RPM low and 170 to 3200 RPM high. This allows for quick adjustments based on the speed requirements of each project, resulting in smooth finishes.
The heavy-duty cast-iron bed and bed extension support your workpiece throughout the turning process. This lathe also includes a dual-purpose auxiliary bed. Adding it to the left of the headstock allows for increased bowl turning capacity. A bowl turning tool rest is included just for this. Adding the bed to the end of the main bed turns it into an extension, giving you more space to work.
SB1126 offers 10-degree spindle indexing for precise workpiece positioning and there is a 6" faceplate located on both ends of the spindle You can easily change direction during turning with the helpful forward and reverse spindle controls.
