The G0458ZX 18" Open-End Variable-Speed Drum Sander features a powerful 2 HP main motor and a 90-watt conveyor motor. Easily sand large, flat workpieces up to 36" wide and 4-1/2" thick!

Why would anyone want an open-ended sander?

First, it is economical. You get the sanding capacity of a much larger, more expensive machine, in a smaller footprint.

Second, the open-end allows you to sand twice as wide as the drum. Feed your workpiece through on one side, then turn it around and feed it through on the other side.

Unlike other open-ended drum sanders, the table moves up and down instead of the head, meaning the drum support is much more rigid during sanding operations, giving you more consistent results.

The precision control of the electronic variable-speed conveyor allows you to find the perfect feed rate up to 12 feet per minute (FPM).

Changing the sandpaper is easy and straightforward. Simply remove the top cover for unobstructed access to the easy-to-change, hook-and-loop sandpaper. Replacement are available.

Additionally, this machine features a built-in mobile base for easy portability, easier cleaning of the work area, and increased workflow efficiency.
